Adult Basic Education
Non-Credit

Adult Basic Education is instruction in basic reading, writing, spelling and math at the student's own skill level. Students may enroll in the class at any time.
Location: Main Campus, Room 3

Adult Literacy
Non-Credit

This program is for anyone who needs to learn or improve reading skills. Students work one-on-one with volunteer tutors. The class runs in partnership with the Ventura County Library's Adult Reading Program. If you know someone who wants to learn to read or if you would like to volunteer to be a tutor, call 641-4484.

Migrant Program

Under the Migrant Program, students who are between 18 and 22 years of age and whose family works in agriculture, fishing or the transport or preparation of agricultural products, can qualify for educational assistance. Such a student must have made a work-related move within 3 years to qualify for this program. The Migrant program can financially assist students by paying for educational materials, textbooks, fees and more. Students need to complete the application and interview process to qualify for this program. Assistance can be provided for English as a Second Language (ESL), GED, diploma and vocational classes. Programa Migrante

Los alumnos entre 18 y 22 años de edad cuyos familiares trabajan en agricultura, pesca o inclusive, en la transportación y preparación de productos agrícolas pueden recibir ayuda educativa por medio del Programa de Educación Migrante. Para calificar en este programa los alumnos y/o familiares tienen que haberse desplazado en busca de trabajo agrícola en los últimos 3 años. El Programa de Educación Migrante puede brindar ayuda económica por medio de pago de libros, cuotas y materiales escolares. Los alumnos tienen que ser entrevistados y completar la solicitud correspondiente para inscribirse en el programa. Se ofrece asistencia educativa en clases de inglés, GED y oficios.
