Principal’s Welcome

Dear Oxnard Adult School Student,

I would like to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! It brings me great joy to be your principal. My goal is to ensure that you reach your academic, professional, and personal goals. Because I am a native of Oxnard and a member of our community, I know and understand the needs of many of the students we serve. I am a dedicated servant and I’m whole-heartedly committed to your success.

Oxnard Adult School (OAS) at Solar Drive begins its second year in a state-of-the-art building with updated technology. We also have locations at various off-sites to help you overcome any transportation barriers. We offer courses in English as a Second language, Career Technical Education (CTE), and the High School Diploma/High School Equivalency programs in various instructional models (in-person, online, hybrid, hyflex). Our very experienced and knowledgeable teachers are dedicated  and strive to ensure you receive a high-level education. They want to  prepare and support you by creating an academic learning environment where you will feel welcomed.

In addition to providing you with a learning environment, I will also focus on supporting your overall physical and mental wellness. We will continue to provide you with referrals to community-based organizations; however, I plan to develop in-house support via a Wellness Center.

Our best wishes to you on accomplishing your goals!

Sincerely,
Leticia Carabajal

I have been in education for the past 26 years, and the last 16 have been in administration. I now have the opportunity to work and pleasure to serve as assistant principal at Oxnard Adult School. I look forward to working with our teachers that motivate and teach our adult students each day. I am excited for the many students that enthusiastically come to our building to expand their skills to achieve their goals. I am eager with anticipation for the day our students accomplish their educational journey at OAS.
