Beginning Sewing I

Build confidence while learning the fundamentals of sewing in a supportive, hands-on environment. This course covers essential skills including sewing machine setup, measuring, marking, cutting, and basic construction techniques. Students will complete beginner-friendly projects such as a multipurpose tote bag and elastic-waist pants while developing strong foundational skills. Additional projects may be introduced as time allows. No prior sewing experience is required. Students provide their own fabric. Class runs with a minimum enrollment of 12 students.

Beginning Sewing II

Take your sewing skills to the next level by building on foundational techniques and gaining confidence in garment construction. In this course, students will create more advanced projects including a woven top or T shirt , a zippered bag , and a third garment of the classes choice . Instruction focuses on reading patterns, improving fit, working with different fabrics, and refining sewing techniques. Prior sewing experience is recommended. Fabric and supplies are not included. Class runs with a minimum enrollment of 12 students.

Intermediate Sewing

Build on your basic sewing skills and learn techniques to take your sewing to the next level. In this course, students will advance their understanding of garment construction while creating projects such as a simple skirt or trousers with front and back pockets, a button-up top, and a zippered pouch. Prior sewing experience required. Fabric and supplies not included. Class runs with a minimum enrollment of 12 students.

Sewing/Garment Construction

Learn pattern layout, cutting and sewing techniques, proper selection of materials, and receive assistance with common problems in garment construction. Students learn about quilting, wearable art and related quilting projects in a relaxing atmosphere. Sewing machines are available for your use, or you may bring your own and learn how to use it. A Janome Embroidery machine is available for students use. Occupancy limited to 12 students.
